Kód PM_a038 nahlásila ve voze jednotka „Kontrola pedálu“. Písmeno „a“ uprostřed kódu ho řadí mezi záznamy typu alert.
Pedal Monitor — nezávislý dohled nad plynovým pedálem a točivým momentem. Kontroluje, že vůz zrychluje jen tehdy, když to řidič skutečně chce. Je to bezpečnostní prvek, takže jeho kódy vedou k omezení výkonu.
Nejběžnější typ. Vůz si událost zapsal a mohl ji zobrazit na displeji. Škála je široká — od drobnosti, která zmizí sama, po věc, kterou je potřeba řešit.
Takhle je chyba pojmenovaná přímo ve firmware vozu. U kódů bez popisu je to nejpřesnější vodítko, které existuje — název sám říká, čeho se událost týká.

Airbagy, brzdy, řízení a vysoké napětí nemá smysl vyčkávat. U ostatních skupin se dá počkat, jestli se kód vůbec vrátí.
