Where the list comes from

Tesla sends release notes straight to the car, and we read them through the official Tesla Fleet API from cars listed on TesList. The text appears exactly as the driver sees it on the screen. The date is the day we first saw the version in any car.

Common questions about updates

What does a version number like 2025.32.6 mean?
The first number is the year, the second roughly the week Tesla branched that line of development. Further numbers are point releases with fixes. A higher number means newer software.
How do I install a Tesla update?
On the touchscreen open Controls → Software. When a new version is ready for your car, an install button appears there; you can also schedule it. The car has to be parked, ideally on Wi-Fi. Installation usually takes 20 to 40 minutes.
Why don't I have the new version yet?
Tesla rolls updates out gradually in waves — by country, model, hardware and options. Under Controls → Software → Software Update Preference you can choose “Advanced” to get new versions sooner.
Do release notes differ between models?
Yes. The same version can bring different features to a Model 3 than to a Model Y or S, because some depend on hardware. That is why each version lists the models we saw it in.
Can I roll an update back?
No. Tesla does not offer owners a way back to an older version. If something misbehaves after an update, a screen reboot (hold both steering wheel scroll buttons) usually helps.
